We would all like to believe we do not gossip. However, the truth is, everyone gossips, because Gossip News is big news. Did you repeat to your spouse an incident or conversation you had with a colleague at work? You just gossiped. Did you pass on a secret that you had with someone? Once again, you gossiped.
Gossip has taken the place of news. The media does not report the news; they repeat what “confidential sources” told them. In all reality, who knows if any “confidential source” exists?
We love to peek into the lives of celebrities. For some strange reason, we want to know what they are doing and with whom. What did they name their children? What are they wearing? What foods do they like? Have they lost weight? Have they gained weight? We just cannot get enough. The evidence of this is the gossip tabloids near the supermarket checkout stands. It is placed there because the sellers know, we love gossip.
