How to Make Sushi Nori Crab Rolls

Nori carb rolls are not technically sushi as these rolls are made without the sushi rice. They are made out of tender crab meat mixed with seasoned cream cheese which makes a scrumptious rich filling for nori seaweed sheets. Nori crab roll serves as a slightly extravagant and slightly sweet side dish served alongside a traditional sushi dish.

Ingredients:

4 nori seaweed sheets

8 ounces cooked crabmeat

8 ounces softened cream cheese

¾ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

¼ teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions on how to make sushi Nori Rolls

Put nori sheets on four serving plates. Mix Worcestershire sauce, cream cheese, garlic salt and crabmeat in a large bowl. After combining this mixture, add a small amount on each nori sheet seaweed and roll the sushi into jelly roll logs. This sushi is meant to be served immediately, but before you do, slice them into ¾ pieces so they are small.

Isn’t it amazing how these TV chefs make everything look so easy, this is partly due to the fact that in a professional kitchen they have all the tools that makes there life easy. It’s a bit like a mechanic with the right tools you can do anything whereas with a couple of old wrenches life is not so easy. You don’t actually need that many power tools in the kitchen but if you have a stand mixer then there are so many things that are suddenly made really easy for you. There are all the obvious things like mixing up your bread dough for you as well as your cake mixes. But there are the attachments that go with it as well that will do many other things. For instance you can get a pasta rolling attachment, with this you can make full use of your mixer. First off you can mix your dough in the bowl then when you have the right consistency you simply add the pasta roller, once attached you can roll out your pasta to the right thickness and then even add a cutter if you wish to cut your pasta shapes.

The trouble with many kitchen gadgets is that we buy them with the best of intentions but invariably they end up in a cupboard where they stay and only come out on rare occasions. With a stand mixer the fact that they are so heavy [twenty five pounds] means they are better left on the work counter, but because they look so great this is not a problem and when it is always on the counter in front of you there is a lot more chance of you using it as opposed to having to think about pulling it out of the cupboard before you start.

How to Make Potato Candy

The potato candy is often called Irish potato candy, although this type of candy has no connection at all to the Irish background, perhaps the name comes simply because potato is the main ingredient of this sweet delicacy. The root vegetable, potato, is made as a source of sweet confection and this potato candy is quite traditionally made during holidays, especially on Christmas day. As a traditional delicacy, many people nowadays want to know how to make potato candy. Potato candies can be prepared in jelly roll style or ball style. All you need to do is prepare one medium potato, cooked and mashed; 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 dash of salt, 1 box powdered sugar, and peanut butter. First, mix all the ingredients except for the peanut butter; add the powdered sugar until mixture is similar to that of a dough and refrigerate for an hour. Roll out onto waxed paper covered with powdered sugar, then spread peanut butter over dough; roll it up like a jelly roll and seal the ends. Refrigerate for an hour then slice into pinwheels. And voila! You now have your delicious potato candy!

As a keen home cook and someone who is very much living in the 21st century I am constantly stumbling across new food blogs and articles almost every day on the internet. Obviously there are a lot of American ones that have quite strange recipes (different strokes for different folks I suppose!!) They use ingredients that are not readily available in the UK supermarkets (well, I can;t seem to find them on the shelves of any supermarket) and they also tend to like to add sweet syrup and other fatty ingredients to their savoury recipes (which, again, is just weird!).

If, like me, you like reading about new recipe ideas the following sites are well worth a look at: I’m glad it burnt, Nom kitchen and smitten kitchen. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I have! They seem to be normal people just writing blogs purely because they enjoy it and not to make money… which is nice these days!

If your anything like me you love back yard bbqs whether it is with just your family, a few friends or a large group of people. To pull off a successfull BBQ you need a few essential things. You need a quality bbq, some good food and some tasty marinade. The most essential thing is the bbq which you can find at home depot, target or any number of stores. You can usually find a decent grill anywhere between two hundred and a few thousand dollars. Also, there are some specs you should look for when shopping for a grill. These include type of fuel is it gas or charcoal, BTU size and what type of side burners it has. Look for adequate hood height. If you want to cook roasts and whole birds on your grill. Choose a grill with enough hood height to fit the size of your meats and allow some head room. Once you have your perfect grill you can cook all kinds of meat and even make beef jerky.
