When you talk about a post box, and you ask a neighbor what sort of box you should put up, he’ll likely give you one of two types of answers. One answer, is actually an answer or an opinion that he has. The other, is the “whatever” response. “Get whatever you want.” Or, “I don’t care, it doesn’t matter.” That’s sort of the non-response response. Back to the other sort of response, you’ll find that most people you ask will suggest that you get whatever everybody else has. So to preempt receiving all of these mundane responses, why not just take a look around, from the vantage of your driveway, and see if there are any patterns in the way that these boxes along your street are presented. Perhaps they’re aligned a certain way. Perhaps the post box to your left is of a certain color, which coincides with a general color scheme in the area.
